Join the Quattro Club. Events from the National Club are all over the US. The Socal local chapter has hooked up with Speedtrial USA to do local events at Buttonwillow and Willow Springs. Both of these track are about 1.5hours north of Los Angeles.
There is always the autocross circuit with SCCA. Just had one at the Angel Staduim on Sunday.
Another Norcal and Socal favorite is Tracquest. Todd Serota the guy who runs that show was a guest instructor at Thunderhill in Jan. 2000, at his last event at Buttonwillow, 6 or 7 Norcal attendees and 6 or 7 were from Socal area. Not a bad showing.

These allow you to take your street car out in supervised track sessions with different passing rules.

You can also check out www.thunderhill.com, they have street car schools there too.<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/carssmall4.jpg">
