I'll be instructing, too.
The only other time I was at Laguna was when my S4 was only a couple months old. The only mod at that time was the coilovers (and warped rotors from the previous weekend's trip to Thunderhill). It'll be interesting to see how I can improve on the 1:53 lap times I got then. Yeehaw!!<p>Corey S

Actually, I like the idea. What towns is the track close to? It may be a contest to see if the track car lasts the winter. If the road warrior damage isn't bad, it'll get a cage. (Driving on ice today w. +2's.)

...or just be a Quattro Club member?

some regions say you just have to be a QCUSA member, and can use any car. Some regions (I think the North East will do this) says you must be a member AND must have an Audi ... like PCA does. They may allow instructors to bring any car they want, but attendees will have to have an Audi.
Again, that is just talk, but I think it is going to happen soon.
Can I be instructed by you, Sharon and Steve? :) And if the occasion arises I'd love to be a passenger as well.
I'm sure I won't be challenging your 1:53, but I'll be wearing one of the biggest grins, regardless. :))
So how many miles away are Monterey and Carmel from the track? Any hotel recommendations that are nice, but won't break the bank? Very nice area, I've visited briefly before.
So Drew, you coming? It's not like the East and West Coast's are THAT far away. ;-)

...Sharon and I made it out there!!
But sheesh, Leslie, making instructor reservations this far in advance? You've gotta be kidding? But then again, I just faxed my app for that event today! :-P
I can't wait to do Laguna again. It's so expensive, and the opportunity to run there doesn't come up very often.
About hotels and stuff...I'm sure the event coordinators (come on, Steve!) will post that kind of info soon. There are lots of nice places in the area.<p>Corey S

Laguna is soooo dreamy. Shoot, I'd pass on a date with Ashley Judd for a chance to drive there. You guys don't know how bad I want to go but without someone to share driving duties, it would take a week of driving....hmmmm maybe I can get in a few days of snowboarding in Utah on the way there and back. Soooo tempting.
Just checked....51 hours of driving @ 8 hrs/day...almost 7 days of driving...ugh. Then 7 days to get back and tack on over 6,000 miles. Bwaaaaa!!!!!!!! :(<p>Andrew Lee

...with the exception of the instructors. It should even be limited in that class to full race cars.
I will say, however, that I enjoy the opportunity to attend BMWCCA events and only wish that I had the opportunity to bring my little 1.8 to a PCA event to surprise a few rear engined motoring snobs!

when I see your shiny, waxed, perfectly-painted bumper right in front of me in the braking zone. Maybe my brakes will suddenly fail...
When are you guys gonna fix up that GTI!?!?
Nice thing about the wreck is that now no one trusts my driving.
The bad thing about the wreck is that now no one trusts my driving.
I was wondering when you'd see that! Just hurry up and gut out that Type-R, then beat all of us S4's with it. I'm just jealous that you have such a cool track car.
About the GTI, not enough time and money between the three of us right now. Gotta wait for the job to die down, and IPO!<p>Corey S

Yes, that's right, I'm going to the car tomorrow with a great big hammer. I figure if I **** it up too much, I'll just get a new rear quarter welded on. Can't get much worse...
Shh, don't tell Andrew, but I'm gonna try and drag him back to the car to help me gut it tomorrow. Maybe I can con a few other folks too ;)
Just got back from Jersey. I picked up a used bumper, bumper cover, and headlights from a wrecked Type R. Now I need to find a sucker that's done the Japanese conversion kit so I can buy off their radiator support.
1) Track cars allowed only in instructor run group.
2) Several week period where only Audi cars will be accepted - other get put on a waiting list and fill spots not taken by Audi drivers - it is an Audi club!
3) More stringent solo sign-off requirements
I've seen too much CARnage lately - things have to change.<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/Gb-befor.jpg">

Is that the very nice (hills, etc.) track close to Monterey? I've camped there. Some exciting 3am episodes with drunk morons, and even dumber sheriffs.
