Hello all!

Just got home from Boothill Speedway, where I just won the 2000 Louisiana State Championship in the Mini Stock class.

It was the most awesome feeling in the world to beat the fastest guys in the state of Louisiana. And it was an upset win. Noone even dreamed that I would win this race. But I showed them.

Here's the rundown. Qualifications were on Friday. Started fourth in my Heat. Won the heat.
Started on the outside pole for the feature Saturday, ran it flag to flag to take the win. I was told after the race that I had a 3/4 of the straight lead at the finish on a 3/8's mile track.

The PINTO KICKED A$$. Also got a nice payout for the win.

I'm amazed every time I watch dirt trackers run. The amount of car control you guys have is awesome. Congradulations on taking the state title!

It did not start out that great Saturday. The car was really pushing bad in the corners, and on dirt that is your death warrant. So taking a big risk, I removed about a 100lbs. out of the left rear of the car. I also adjusted the air pressures at all four tires tring to take more weight off the left rear. And man did it make a difference, I could hang the rear of the car out and control it with the throttle. The track was extremely dry slick which makes it extremely easy to spin. Just one stab of the throttle too hard and you're facing the wrong way looking at the whole field coming at you. But I was in cruise control and took it to the house. I was three tenths faster than the whole field each lap.

Just a great feeling!

Sometimes, you just land in the "Zone" and can do no wrong. Congrats, Bryan, sounds like everything you did kept you in the Zone. Great drive...glad you spanked
the Mustang crowd.

Those big changes (major weight-jack and tire pressure change) might seem to be desperation moves to some, but it sounds like you and crew are on the same page and you've figured out your chassis dynamics, at least at Boothill. As you've found, all data is good data, whether the change was for better or worse. Racing can be as much pencil & paper as it is rubber and gas.

I had a good weekend too - Sunday had a 26 car SRF field at Watkins Glen, I started 7th & finished 5th - rocketship ride on the short (NASCAR) course - we were lapping at 95+ mph average. Major drafting action on front straight, back straight and NASCAR straight became late braking battles at T1, T10 and the Bus Stop chicane. I won more games of "chicken" than I lost. Off to Mid-Ohio on Friday for WOR Games Races...that'll be 4 straight race weekends (smirk)......
