Well, logged in 100 miles on our new baby roadster - dang this thing is tiny.
Yet, it feels very agile and responsive, kinda like the Integra - I mean very quirk on slight steering jolts and tends to swing its butt out more. Oversteers a quite a bit even on part throttle. Can't wait till it's all broken in.
Power is delayed - feels like our old Eclipse, but when it comes, it snaps you in place - again like the old DSM - whoops, hit 4500, down boy, still in break-in . Suspension is almost as bumpy as my A4, but tighter since it's brand new probably. Tires haven't squeeled yet, and have pretty good bite - all I know is they are Bridgestone (Firestone) oh oh, but don't care since they will be swapped out soon anyway.
All I can say, it feels much, much, much more nimble than the current setup of my A4 despite it being a tad heavier, so I can't wait to do some AutoXing on this baby. A stock here we go!
A4 will now be the track car :P

Will you have logged 1,000 miles by October 1st? First race of the slush series, you know!<p>Sharon

It was open track day Sunday= all passing all the time, testosterone contest to pass each other....
Hmmm a bit scary at first, then I got into the groove of it and passed a couple of cars myself. It was like groups 3 & 4 combined, they let a few of us #2 drivers in also.
Only one other Audi besides me (passed him like a breeze heehee), and some friends from the BMW M3 group. HOT like 105 in the shade (um, oops, no shade at Thunderhill) and changing tires on my car with 3" of clearance all around SUCKS BIGTIME! I'll show the NorCal'ers a live demo sometime. It involves stacked 2x4's and beefy floorjacks to get my baby in the air now.....
OK then so see you & your new baby soon!! :)

The TT and all Audii do not have a break-in period! Just go out and have FUN!
The car is too slow for A Stock except maybe at local auto-x events. Too much weight and not enough get up and go. You are better off in either Street Prepared or Street Mod. The car belongs in G Stock, but won't be switched to that class until the 2002 season at the earliest. :(
I have already raced the 225TTQ and my girlfriend has the only 225TT that has competed nationally and found the car to be too slow. She is either moving up to SM or getting a faster car for auto-x in AS.

I'm really strict with all my cars as far as break-in. The TTR runs hot - I mean 3/4 temp, and I expect to see that go down when I get it loosened up a bit. I don't believe in cars not having a break in preiod other that the Porshe's because I have witnessed on tape their factory break in periods.
We'll see that this thing does in local AutoX. It's all about region anyway. I get as good times with the AS folks with my 12V A4 running regutar street tires and the TTR just feels much more nimble. The 2 AS ladies here in the bay area are pretty competitive by Jenny's times are within reach with our slow A4 so we'll see. It's all about fun anyway, but if we win, even better :)

So when will the next track event be? Sear's Point? I'm there - with the A4 of course :)

move to Class 3. Curious how competitive you guys/gals might be vs...
BMW - M3 (E36), Z3 2.8's incl coupe
Porsche - 914-6, 928, 944, 968, Carreras 2/4
Toyota - MR2 Turbo
Ferrari - 308, 328
Lotus - as currently in AS
Seems like a tough crowd. Of course with my Audi, I have no "crowd" to run with..Boo hoo.

Juliann and I raced her 225TTQ and hers also runs hot. I have a 180TTQ and the temp is always at the 12 o'clock position. I told her to have this checked as I am pretty sure it is either the temp gauge or the software sending the wrong signal. I also told her to have the thermostat checked out by her dealer.

Both cars are too slow and too fat to compete with those cars in stock trim. :(

3/4 is quite high, close to 100C - and pure water will boil, which means not adequate cooling when car is not moving. If one removed the thermostat on the A4 and TTQ, the A4 would be close to 1/4 temp at nominal operation, the TTQ will still be at 3/4's. I already have a lot of ideas to take the temp down - because you feel it inside he cockpit even with the A/C on - specially this week in bay area where it is 100F everywhere.
Too bad it doesn't have an oil temp gauge :(

The gauge cluster is pretty pitiful IMHO in ALL Audii :(
