Looking to spend no more than $500 for a decent helmet that would be up to spec for QCUSA or SCCA events.
-Chicago Joe

Shoei and Arai make good ones, but one is shaped more for round heads, one for pointy heads. For me, Shoeis fit much better. (I'm not sure if that meks me a round or a pointy head!)

...is that Shoei's are only made for Asian heads, which tend to be more round. Arai actually has different designs for different markets, and the NA market supposedly has longer heads.

I've had both, and the Arai fits me much better. With that Shoei, I could only ride my motorcycle for an hour before having a splitting headache. I can wear my Arai all day long.
Corey S

1) Does a Bell M3 get much for the money over an M2?
2) The facemask that I see some guys wearing under their helmets--does this get amateurs anything?

Thanks.
-Chicago Joe

It is about $100 more...but for what? Anybody know? The M3 does not have as big of an eyelet as the M2 does...That is the main reason I got the M2...for the big eyelet (I have glasses...and use prescription sunglasses a lot)

The nomex mask is a worthwhile safety component, but I really sweat enough by just saying the word "sweat". When at the track in California..the last thing I need in 95 degree weather is a mask to make me sweat more.
