. . . for making it the best TracQuest event ever! Audis were particularly well represented. Even though the event was completely full for participants (60) and instructors (20), it ran as smoothly as any event I've done. I think this was due in large part to the professionalism of the corner workers and course control staff. They're employees of the track and SCCA trained, and are certainly a notch (or more!) above the crews I can get at other tracks. Turbo, running course control, was awesome!

Even with this many cars, everyone went home safe and satisfied, with no damage. I thought open passing worked very well in the red group. One person described it as "brilliant!" but I don't know that I'd go quite that far!

What makes TracQuest events great are the people. Put the wrong 60 participants and 20 instructors on the track at an event like this and there could easily be carnage. Even the hotel staff at the Golden Pheasant, when I checked out, thanked me, and said that this was the best, most patient and polite track group they've ever had there. Similar comments were made by the track management and course control/flag crew. Things like that make me feel really good about what I'm doing.

See you at the next event - Buttonwillow on Saturday, August 19!
