We just finished testing the "new" APR turbo back exhaust sysem. This system is all stainless steel and starts out at the turbos with nice large down pipes eleminating the precats. It flows thru two hi-performance cats and then merges into a 3" pipe. All bends are mandrel. The muffler is at the rear with two polished outlets. This combines their current cat back with a turbo back system. It fits perfectly and you can return to stock if desired. Since it is "modular" you can purchase all or any part. We went to the Firebird drag strip here in Phoenix last night. The temp was very hot and muggy--about 98'and 65% humidity when we were running. The track is about 1200ft above sea level. We ran 13.438 @101.69 with the complete system and the APR Motorola race chip. We then removed the muffler and ran two more runs back to back. These were almost identical times of 13.208 @ 103.83 miles per hour. We then let the car cool for an hour and put in my stage two TAP chip. Even though conditions were better [cooler] our time slowed to 13.608 @ 100.58mph. This proved that he APR chip was making significantly more power. All runs were exellent no missed shifts etc. We took first and second gears to 6500 and the third to fourth was at 5800. We have run this car many many times and found these to be best shift points. All participants were running about 4 to 5 tenths off their best times due to the weather. We ran against a late model modified [400+hp claimed] twin turbo Supra that normally runs in the 12's. We beat him on both runs, he was running 13.4's. There were two turbo Buick Gran Nationals also running about .5 sec off their normal times. We are very impressed with both the APR chip program and the very high quality exhaust. I do not own a digital camera so we took std pictures which we will get developed and will post. Lets just say that the exhaust is almost too beautiful to be under the car!! I do not work for APR so I do not know pricing--we were just asked to help with the testing. I'm sure we will be turning 12 second qtr miles come winter. JOEL
