Finally, I got a 1st Place that meant at least a little bit. Street Touring Unlimited (in LA SCCA) and Improved Street 3 (IS3) are pretty much similar classes. San Diego seems to like to run their own show, thus the different names. Well, though I have gotten a few 1st in LA SCCA STU, I have been mainly the only one in the class. But in San Diego there is a trick Civic EX that I lost to last time, but today I got him! At first I was depressed cause the guy at the finish line handing out the time slips let me know the Civic had beat me! But much later I saw on the results board he had hit a cone! YEAH!!!!!!! And thank goodness too, cause as there were not too many cars in my run group, I didn't have time to let the car cool down (heat is a turbo's worst enemy). And as I ended up having a re-run and a 4th run - and ended up being the last car - my engine started breaking up at the higher revs - and in the slalom my power steering went out abruptly at the WRONG TIME! WHOA! Can you say A4 sideways????<p>From what I could tell, though - my times were not too shabby, considering I have a FWD and Auto/Tip A4. And I felt my lines were pretty smooth on most runs. But to give a more acurate set of times, I'll have to wait a week or more to get the official results.
