I love the audi design! In my old car I had to get a special soft touch revlimiter. In the A4 it is butter smooth, don't lose any throttle control. Not that I ever even come close to redline.

I'm afraid I redline my A4 more than I really would like. If I'm going straight, the limiter is no problem, but in a turn, the sudden loss of power slightly unsettles both the car and me. Admittedly, this is something I should be thinking about before I get to that point.<p>I wouldn't call it "butter smooth", but then maybe I'm spoiled, because this is the first car I've ever tracked (or redlined with any frequency, for that matter). <p>Rich D.<br>'98.0 A4 2.8 QM etc.

If the 1.8T is at redline, I would imagine the turbo is working pretty hard. Could the turbo's spinning momentum possibly make for a smoother, less abrupt effect from the rev limiter?<p>Go easy on me if this is a totally stupid idea.<p>Rich D.

I honestly don't know. It feels like the injectors trim down rather than cut off completely. Or it may be a timing cut out (don't think so) Strangely, it seems to stay on boost!!! The power just tapers off, so it may be the boat anchor of a flywheel keeps things going for a bit.
