Anyone know of events coming up in TX? I'm especially interested in driving schools, but TWS and TMS don't seem to have any scheduled until november, and I can't wait that long. Thanks.

We're going to Hallett, OK June 12-13. The SCCA, PCA, BMWCCA, RX-7 club all have events at TWS and the track puts on its own events. As far as I know TMS only has races on the Oval and Legends.
Rick Schwalenberg runs the events we go to (972)-641-4778. Where are you?
Todd W

We haven't seen or heard from Amro in 6 weeks. JayP has been working long hours. Oscar moved to Dallas, but hates working Saturdays. I don't personally know DonP. RickP lives the closest to TWS, but is majorly antisocial except for on the forum.
I'm not sure I want people to think that I'm from TX :-) I did just move here. Of course, it's always up to the new guy to get the ball rolling for a QCUSA regional :(
Todd W
p.s. Any more news on camping at MH?

. . .everything seemed OK, aside from his being a wee bit PO'd about his alignment job. He was considering having his service done at another, supposedly more "mod-enthusiastic" dealer, but no sign of the Houdini performed here.
Anyone?

I use to date a girl at Baylor ...and from the airport to Baylor I fully understand the need for CB radios. "Smokey on exit 241...gotcha good buddy".
Sorry Kurt, I forgot you were in TX too...have you gone to the TWS events yet? I know ChrisW hasn't....no car yet.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

That's what I was afraid of. I'm in San Antonio, so Hallet is just too far to drive. Does the Austin group still meet?

Guess I hide my twang on this board. 8^)
Made the first day (Sat., the COLD one) of the event about a month ago. It was cold, windy, and cold, but I finally got to meet some of the good folks on this board. AND it was COLD!!
Didn't go out on the track this time (was STILL waiting for my swaybar), so it's still been almost 5 yrs. since I ran there, but it was great in spite of the cold. It was noce too watch/meet every body else there - think you'll ever make it out to TX for one of these?
BTW, did I mention that last time it was COLD? Next time. . .Texas "warmth". . .probably with one of the other clubs we have around here.

There are a few people in Austin who come to the driver's events- I don't know if there is a ClubH2O group out there, but the Gulfcoast chapter (Houston, Austin, SA, Dallas) is pretty active.
There might be some autox's you might want to try out in Austin.
http://www.clubh2o.com/gulfcoast/
Yes- its VWs and Audis... but there are some of us who own both.

Have been out house hunting. Nothing yet. Don't think I'll be doing Hallet this year. Must save for house. But, I'll definately go to TWS again. Brian, the TWS event is incredible. I for one have learned quite a bit. I also feel that you will enjoy yourself from the second time on. I was a bit timid (read: scared) the first time out. Once you get past that barrier, you will enjoy yourself a whole lot more. My goal is to spank Jason without rolling my car. I'll try to do it with my chipped 2.8, but I feel I need the supercharger (yea that's the ticket).
If you do go, get a seperate set of wheels/tires. I put BFG G-Force R1's on my stock sport wheels and got some new rims for the city. There is an incredible difference between the tires, and I get the added benefit of not tearing up my street tires.
Thats all for now.
Later :)
Amro 2.8 Wett qMS (house hunting)

Yeah, Jason and I finally got Amro to spend the bucks on the R-compounds. Now that I'm up here in Virginia, I'm getting a friend to spend money on his Eclipse GS-T to try to keep up with the rest of the cars at Summit Point. Such bad influences...
Gonna go auto-X at a Porsche vs BMW autocross event. I'll be one of the oddball cars =) Hopefully it'll rain.
Summit Point again on May 21st! No rain, no rain, no rain, no rain!!!
Warren

FYI, there is a VW/Audi club here in Austin that
meets the third Saturday of every month around 1PM
at Rudy's south (near the Barton Creek Mall on Capital of Texas highway). Many of these guys
are very interested in attending the next TWS event, also.
If anyone wants more info on the Austin club, let me know. I need to spread the work a bit better to the A4.org'ers, since the CTAB group doesn't meet often enough, and I think CTAB should fold into the Austin VW/Audi club.
Later,
Eric
