Ok you Thunderhill participants....be safe out there on the track...couple of things you should do before next weekend:
1) Check Tire pressures (36 all around is fine for the trip to Thunderhill - you will need to adjust at Thunderhill....I was at 44 front, 36-38 rear with a quattro?)
2) Check your lug nut (with Audi they are really bolts...but you understand) If you have a torque wrench the bolts should be set at 90ft lbs.
3) For those of you with aftermarket sway bars, and even those with stock sway bars, make sure the nuts are on tightly.
4) Remove all unnecessary crap out of the car...you know what stuff I'm talking about.
5) Check fluid levels...oil, coolant, brake fluid...top off where necessary. May think about bringing an extra quart of oil.
6) Check windshield wiper operation...it may rain while you are on the track.
7) Bring comfortable shoes...and a windbreaker. Last time we went in January it got very cold, wet and windy on the second day.
Hope this helps. We don't want you to get in the position that Mayer did...oops.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

At several of the recent driving schools, some people neglected to check their brake pads and consequently had some accidents, a couple were quite expensive to the owners,--where the brake pads literally broke apart--under heavy braking!!
It's best to check, and replace if need be --- than try to get buy and cause problems for either yourself or someone else.
A further question to all of you going----brake fluid is also key here--it should be replaced at least once a year!!
Happy motoring--this TRACK is great.
