Any drivers w/quattro systems going to be at NASA HPDE on December 6? I've signed up for group 1 as I've not much experience w/my new AWD system and want to get the feel. I'd really like to query experienced quattro drivers on the performance and their experiences.
I also plan on signing up for the QC event at TH on Jan 16, but I don't have the info yet...

Be careful at the NASA event....some people have been know to hit each other on occasion. The Street Schools are a little bit better....with the Quattro Club event on Jan 16-17 being the safest of the three. The Quattro Club people have expensive cars....S4...S6...UrQuattros....so they tend to be a little bit more safe and don't take unneeded risks.
I don't know anyone from the NorCal A4 group going to the Thunderhill event on Dec 6th.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
NorCal A4 Owners Club

NorCal A4 Club Page

Thanks for the warning Steve. Group 1 is a 'no pass' group and I'm hoping this experience will be a bit more benign than the group 3 and 4 runs. The last NASA event I went to (Sears Point HPDE Sep 98), there seemed to be a higher percentage of idiots-kids in their daddy's new beemers and lexus than I'd seen in the past. I saw a lot of spinouts in turn 11. One guy in a new Lexus spun his car completely off the track and up the hill in an earlier turn. This was all group 3 and 4 stupidity though.
Have you heard of similar dumasery in the no pass groups? Besides, I thought NASA had a 'no punt' policy!

They allowed us to pass from the exit of turn one to the start of turn 2 (on the inside edge). This was only allowed on our last run of the school. And, of course, they allowed us to pass on the straight away. I didn't want to pass any other places anyway.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
