View Full Version : REMINDER: AutoX event at Oakland Coliseum this Saturday (Oct 3rd)
Steve S. 09-28-1998, 06:01 AM Just in case you didn't get the word...the NorCal A4 Owners Club is bringing a contingent of A4s to the Oakland Coliseum parking lot for some cone dodging fun on October 3rd (Saturday). I personally will be arriving there at about 8am. If you want to compete, bring a helmet (Snell 85 or better) and about $35-40 (you may need to pay a surcharge if you are not a SCCA member). If you want to just watch your fellow A4 owners kick some bootie, that is fine also. Most of us will be there most, if not all day long. Email me if you have any further questions.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
NorCal A4 Owners Club
Warren 09-28-1998, 11:57 AM 8AM?! Are you trying to kill me? I don't even get up that early for work :). Hopefully I'll be there to at least watch. I have a MR2 friend who may want to come too. But after 8. Probably waaaaaaay after 8 ;).
Warren
Mike Zamarocy 09-29-1998, 12:00 AM But this was my very first event in years, and also PRE-Ronal Wheels.
Hey, I couldn't let this thread pass without some of MY action shots!
That bloke in the yellow 911 turbo wouldn't get out of our way!
from l to r:
Bloke
Luis Marques 4000q
Eric Fluhr Coupe GT
Me in the A4 turboq- 100% stock.
Steve S. 09-29-1998, 05:13 AM You gotta invest in a nice telephoto lense bud....we had the same problem with a newer Mustang GT, slow in the corners...accelerated in the straights. Get out of our way!!!!!!!
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
Hey, I'm driving right?
(That was my camera anyway.)
New brakes, a new GTI, a track event this weekend, rent, food, car payment, playstation and games... I need the essentials before I can buy frivolous things such as expensive cameras!
Less than 5 days till the track event- I still need to get the brakes bedded in.
Steve S. 09-29-1998, 11:28 AM I am waiting to install the Brembos until after our events this weekend...I would not have enough time to properly seat them. I am dying to get my stuff installed though....
Have fun at TWS....and no spinning allowed!!!
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
Steve S. 10-01-1998, 09:17 PM I will be at the Coliseum at about 8am....look for
all the cars parked. Shouldn't be too many others
there except us. Also look for orange cones. I will
be bringing donuts for everyone.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

ErikR 10-02-1998, 09:59 AM You are a bad man!
The apex of that corner is pretty far from where you are. A smoother arc will kick butt. You seem to be in the middle of a late turn. That loads up the front for oversteer.
With that rear sway bar, the car should be pretty neutral to oversteer. The back should work as hard as the front.
Have fun!
Erik

ErikR 10-02-1998, 03:01 PM Brembos you stud! I am really interested in how this goes. I am curious about the mounting, brake proportioning, and how the ABS works after this. I was considering the S4 setup, but wanted to get it off a wreaked one (so I have to wait a couple of days after they hit the street).
