About 15 A4s showed up to watch or participate in the SCCA sanctioned Solo2 Slush Run at the Oakland Coliseum on Oct 3rd. The pavement was slippery so the quattros really helped here. Corey S did well again and clocked a best time of 47.08, with me behind him a bit at 48.7. The rest of the A4 pack was in the 50-54 range. I was kinda psyched since I only got beat by 0.1 seconds by a Skip Barber (part-time) instructor in a 318iS (damn that car only weighs 2400 lbs???). It looked like about 100-120 cars showed up total...
The best time of the day was either a Lotus Europa with wings and stuff, or a Formula Vee
(open wheeled VW engine car) with a 40.X
time. The funniest car was a Impala SS that looked like it was going for a Sunday drive on the parkway. You couldn't even hear the big V8 engine at all.
A full write up will be on Sean's A4 page in a couple of days, after we get the film developed and scanned.
Hope those you couldn't make it this time, consider this for next time.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
