All,

I am fitting my wife's 05 Allroad with Blizzak WS50s for the winter with the intent of buying a summer rim/tire package next spring.

I have had found that both the Dunlop SP Sport 9000 and Yokohama AVS-ES 100s (which I have now) have been relatively loud tires.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a good performing summer tire that has a comfortable ride and is quiet (like the stock allseasons).

I'm thinking of 18" rims, so I'd be into 225/45/18 tires.

Anyone have any great recommendations?

Many thanks.
Jamie

Stick with 225/50R18 on the allaroad as 225/45R18 is a bit short in diameter and load capacity. 225/50R18 is not a very common tire size, but 245/45R18 would also give the correct diameter and load capacity and is a more common tire size. For a quiet riding ultra high performance summer tire I'd recommend considering the Conti Contact3. The Michelin PS2 and Bridgestone 050A Pole Position have also had relatively low noise levels but will ride a bit more stiffly.

Tires

Thanks Gary,

Thanks for the recommendations.

I pulled the trigger on the Contis per your recommendation paired with 18" AT Italia S5s (clearance price was too good to pass up).

Thanks for your advice, and yes, I did remember to give you the credit on the order.

Best,
Jamie
