I am looking for some new tires... and am thinking about the Kumho Ecsta AST. I see they are H rated, and like the idea of a softer ride.

Question is... is it OK to get a softer tire if you are running 225-40-18? I found my last set of Z rated tires to be very harsh, and am looking for a compromise... but I don't want to dramatically increase the chances of damaging my wheels.

Going to this tire will not increase the chances of damaging a wheel from potholes or rough roads.
