Hi all,
A question for all of you whose sucessfully installed color gauge faces. After I installed the faces, the engine oil gauge (left most) and the battery gauge (right most) wouldn't return to their normal position. After warming up the car, I tried to position the needle to the middle for the oil gauge and around 14 volt for the battery gauge, which were their normal position before, but after I turn the car off, the oil gauge would drop way below zero position (below that oil thing), while battery gauge would only drop to 13 volt.
If I were to do it the other way around (positon the needles when the car is off), I set the oil gauge a bit below 150F and the battery gauge 8, then after warming up the car, the oil gauge would swing up to higher than 350F ( which is way too high ) while the battery gauge only around 9 volt (too low).
Any suggestion of what I should do before taking it to dealer?
Thanks in advanced and Merry Christmas!
Kent
1.8tq

You put the needles too far back on, and they are rubbing the gauge face. Pull them back out a bit, and try adjusting them with the car on at a known position.. More important to have them show correctly when the car is on, than off anyway..
Rich Quinlan

Quinland

Hi Kent,
While I don't have any solution to your problem (sorry), I did want to ask you how you were able to take the needles out? Is there a special tool to "extract" them?
Please email me if you have an answer,
Thanks a lot,
Andrei D.
