Ordered a set of adapters from ECS Tuning a couple of weeks ago and they are expected to arrive this week. They are supposed to convert the 5x100 TT's bolt pattern into BMW's 5x120. My aim is to mount a set of Breyton Imagines on my TT.

However, I just noticed the sign on the boxes of the rims saying that the fronts have a 72,6 center bore (V001 DIAM.), while the rears which are wider (18x9,5) have a 74,1 center bore. According to ECS' site, the adapters are made to fit BMW wheels with 72,5 center bore (NOT 72,6) and that the ones with 74 (NOT 74,1) should require an extra hubcentric ring. First of all, would these minor differences in numbers (0,1) cause me any fitment issues or do they actually refer to the same numbers? Is the ring really necessairy? On the site it says that it's needed in order to make it completely hubcentric. So if it's not completely, what problem might it cause? Rattles? Is there any other material you can fill the gap with? If it's necessairy after all, where could I buy it from? Is it possible to be custom made?

Thanks for your input...

P.S. Some pics of the rims and the adapters, plus a link to the site (the bottom of the page)...

You need the rings. The 74.1mm dia is more common on the large vehicles, like the 5-series. The smaller dia is used on cars like the 3-series.

We offer rings to convert them. Email if you have questions, or order them online through our site under Wheel Accessories.
