These attatch VERY firmly with a rubber gasket type band. I found the easiest way to remove them is to have the wheels off and punch the cap out from the back <they're metal so they won't break>. If you must remove them with the wheels on the car, use some sort of rubber pad or gloves with some grips to get a firm hold on it and pull hard and fast. To pop it back on a firm strike with the palm or your hand or a rubber mallet is the easiest way.
