Howdy,
I currently have Bridgestone Potenza RE-730s and am replacing them soon. I have my eye on the Pilot Sport PS2s and was wondering if based on the tread pattern if anyone thought there would be reduced noise and tramlining over tires with a pattern such as the Potenzas, 9090 etc. I know that there hasn't been a lot of experience with these yet.

My RE-730s tramline excessively and are pretty noisy. I have 225/45-17s.

These new Pilots will probably be pretty bad tramliners. Alas, that's just speculation on my part, as I haven't actually driven on them.

My S-03s tramline very badly, too, and their pattern is similar (numerous wide circumferential grooves and belts).

I will probably be going with Dunlop SP9000 next because I'm looking for comfort and low tramlining. 225/45/17 also.

Cheers.

I had a set of original OEM PS and the new PS2 is much quieter, handles better, does not tramline at all, is better in the rain and even rides better. Got about 2K miles on 'em. Only thing is they are expensive but in this case I feel you are getting what you pay for. My $0.02.
