I have an 1998 Audi A4 1.8T. The check engine light is persistently on....upon filling the car up with gas...the car would stall/would not statrt unless I give it lots of gas...it would only occur every time I get gas...Audi servive techs told me it do because " the gas cap has to be turned 2x to make sure it is closed..." However, this advice has failed 4x already ( car been brought back 4x)....please help....

Hi Will,<p>I'm thinking that maybe you waited too long to fill up, OR there's something faulty in your fuel delivery system. The fuel line is supposed to be pressurized at all times, even after you refuel. Maybe it's not doing that. If it's not pressurized, then not enough gas is getting to the engine at first; after it runs a while, the line gets pressurized again.<p>"But what should I do?" - well, before you put gas in next time, get an Audi tech in your car and let him do it - guaranteed to get his attention, if the problem gets reproduced by him.<p>Good luck, and enjoy your car!<br>Andrei D<br>Red 1.8T QMS
