It is so cheap!
On its 1997 annual report, under "Regions and Markets" on page49, there's a picture of 4 AUDIs on the road (in Hong Kong I think)
The comment next to it said "Hong Kong: Audis are a common sight on the roads of this pulasting metropolis."
How can they took 4 Audis on the street, take a picture, and make such a comment. i am not saying that Audi is not common in Hong Kong, but you will not see 4 audis pass by at the same time, on the same spot.
Obviously, they made it up!
Charlie (still struggling with the A4 report)
97 2.8Q

* Audi's are fairly common in Hong Kong. When the statement includes the word "common" it should be interpreted with regard to the class in which the car competes, etc. The A4 is "common" in the same way the 3-series is "common."
* If you think the pictures in annual reports are random photographic examples, guess again. Pick up your copy of the Microsoft annual report for the last couple of years and tell me those employeees weren't chosen because "hey, he's good looking," "hey, she's good looking," "hey, with glasses this guy looks even more intelligent."
* Do you really see that many people on StarTACs all the time? Only in the MOT annual report. Have you ever even seen a co-worker using a two-way paging device? Only in the MOT annual report.
* Do plastic smiles make plastic cars at the Saturn plant? Only in the realm of annual reports.
These aren't rare cases, just a few that stick out in my mind.
Cameron

I was just trying to point out that the picture looks really unreal.
The photo itself is kind of casual "pass-by" shot on the street. The purpose of this picture, seems to me, was trying to stress that "hey, Audi is EVERYWHERE that they are ALL OVER THEY CITY"
I think this picture along with that comment is worse then those pictures with happy employees working hard in the office.
Bottom line... this is a very cheap, low quality, picture to put on the report. I rather to see some actors driving the Audis and smile.
Yes, Audi is popular in HK.
---charlie (Still trying to find the "weakness" in Audi for the report)

The proper way to read an annual report is starting in the back, on all those pages with the boring numbers.
Well, not so boring, actually...
