I've got the stock setup right now on my 2001, sport rims 205-55-16's with the stock dunlops, they've got about 20,000 miles on them. What I'd like to do is pick up some 17's, probably just the new sport package, for a low price, slap on some all-season high performance tires (possibly the Pirelli P7000 supersport?) so that I can have those on the car year round.

Questions:

1. Will I find a noticable difference in handling going from the ZR summer tires i have now to the 17 inch Z or W rated all-seasons? Good, bad?

2. Where can I find a decent price on some 17's other than the classifieds? I'm looking to spend no more than 700 on this setup, and I'd like to spend less than that.

3. How much could I sell my 16 inch stock sport rims for? Minor scratches, spare in tact, at least 50% tread left.

Any help would be appreciated. This could be a complicated process since I'm trying to buy new rims and just sell off the old ones rather than creating a winter setup, but I'm not looking to spend that much cash right now.

First of all...there seem to be better alternatives than the Pirelli SuperSport tire. According to Tirerack, the Sumitomo HTR+ is cheaper and better in just about every category.

To your questions.

1. Don't worry about the difference in handling...esp. going from the Dunlops.

2. E-Bay for cheaper set of wheels...just make sure you are clear in your expectations.

3. No clue about selling...again see what similar wheels have sold for on e-bay.

Good luck!
