I'm considering a turbo upgrade (to K04) for my 98 1.8tms with the Neuspeed chip and wanted to hear what the forum thinks about it vs. other performance upgrades. I don't race my car, but I do enjoy the occational spirited drive down a deserted freeway.<p>Would a K04 upgrade (like the package Greedspeed is offering) be worth it?<p>Or would I be better off with the stock turbo and new exhaust (like Remus)?<p>Any and all suggestions/comments are welcome.<p>Thanks everyone,<br>Howard Kim<br>98 A4 1.8tms(neu)

Howard,<p>The NS K04 kit is fairly priced compared to Wett and others. Since you already have their chip, the upgrade is only $1,250 for about 225hp. No exhuast is going to give you that kind of performance.<p>Ali<br>1.8TMS (K04 on order)<br>

<br>I don't want to start some argument over hypothetical stuff, but it is certainly possible to have a reliable car with a bigger turbo. Stock internals on the engine (20V 5cyl). I have 200K on my 5KTQ and the upgraded turbo, 10K ago, has not affected the reliability yet. You can't just throw in a bigger turbo and call it a day, there are a few more things to do to make it a good installation. However, they are not difficult.<p>Todd W
