View Full Version : I'll be ordering a tire today...the wife just drove to work on a flat in her Integra...

I saw a strange mark in the driveway when I went to leave for work. It was wider than her tires, so I wasn't sure what it was. Then it hit me...flat tire. The rim was pressing the sidewalls down and made the marks. I called her when I got to work and sure enough, she said it was flat. I just hope she didn't ruin the wheel.

So, important safety tip folks...take a walk around your car before driving and check the tires.

...she picked up a deck screw in one of her (brand-new) Arctic Alpins. Went in through the tread and out through the sidewall, so it's unpatchable. Fortunately, we have AAA.

What is is about new tires that attracts nails and sharp screws? Same thing happened to me when my Pilot Sport A/Ss were new. ^&%#$@*. HPH

Doing a walkaround is never a bad idea to be sure.

(talk to you soon Craig!)

The wheel is fine, but the tire is probably a goner. There's a big chunk of metal stuck in it (not sure what it is yet) and since she drove on it while it was almost flat the sidewall is more than likely shot.

Eddie - I just placed an online order.
