The rep said they had tested the tire recently and it is going to be in the top three tires made category. The new Ecsta will be around $160 in 18" form and scored above almost any tire made in dry performance categories. Too bad it will not be out until the end of May or early June...

We have NOT yet tested them, since they are not out yet.

A few of our people have done some sneak preview stuff on them, but our actual testing/my test/driving on them will be once they hit the market & are available.. that is still estimated by Kumho until early June at the soonest.

I do look for it to be pretty impressive though- target: Bridgestone S03/Michelin Pilot Sport/Pirelli PZero Rosso, etc!

While we have not had a chance to test the tires in our normal testing procedure a couple of people here have had a chance to test the tires. Our tire information manager, John Rastetter, and another representative had a chance to drive the tires on public roads and on a test track in both wet and dry conditions. John has been testing tires for over 20 years, is a former racer, and co-ordinates our tire testing. He is one of the most knowledgable and qualified testers in the tire industry. They drove the tires back to back with the BFG G-Force KD and found the MX to be equivalent in the dry, better in the wet, and equivalent in ride quality. From this we surmise that the full testing we do will show it to be one of the top tires in the catagory. We have a full test scheduled for this summer when we have tires available. We will be able to better pass on the more subtle differences in performance at that time but the intial testing we did shows this tire will be one of the better choices in it's catagory.
