I have a 97 A4 2.8. I am looking for a wooden shift knob to match the burled walnut trim. The only aftermarket ones that I have seen are pretty cheap looking. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where i can find a nice one that isn't too big?
Thank you, tmb
...and even with only 52 HP, it got me in plenty of trouble in my teenage years! Now you're tempting me to dig up some pictures to torture you with. My Father bought it wrecked, and we fixed it up for my 16th B-day. Aside from the sort of ugly golf/jetta GL wheels, it turned out quite nice. I kind of wish I still had it just to commute with. I still have an extra rear window if you know anyone who needs one! :-)
Charles
Have you seen the one from the dealer? I posted a (sideways) picture of mine a while back. I like it. Basically identical to the stock knob except wood instead of leather. It matches the feel and look of the trim of the "pre-atmospheres" 2.8's exactly. In other words, '98 and earlier. It's not cheap, about $80 from the dealer, perhaps less from Clair Parts (see link section).
Rich
'98 2.8Q sport
