View Full Version : Tire recommendations? So. Cal car getting new BBS CH's CzarS4 06-05-2001, 03:49 PM Gorobei 06-06-2001, 01:28 AM I have Pirelli P-Zero Rossos on my BBS CHs in 225/40/18 and I really love them. I know that they are NOT a foul-weather tire, but since buying them in early March, I've driven in snow, rain, hail, ice, across country, AND two track days, and they've done as much under every circumstance as you could ever ask from a tire of this design. Now, in So.Cal you won't likely see any snow, and rain is a rare thing, too, but I thought you'd like to know that I HAVE driven through all of these things and been impressed. Yesterday, in fact, I was at Seattle International Raceway all day (approx. 5 hours of actual track time, 30 mins per session) and I drove the tires HARD. Only once did the tires squeal or chirp on me, and that was when I made a mistake and lifted in a turn I shouldn't have. I've said too much... :) Put simply, I would and I will buy another set of these for sure in the future (which may not be too distant if I do too many more serious track days on them :P ) It's a great tire, period. B Juan M. 06-06-2001, 10:01 AM i have a set of 19X8.5" BBS CH 235/35/19. i would recomend Toyo T1S proxy tires for 19" they ride smoother than my michelin Pilot Sports on my 18" TD's before. the grip is phenominal and for the price you can't beat it! the tires sell for about 190-200. i tried P7000 which is a horrible tire to purchase they are worth jack $hit..... i had a set of Pilot sports good tire but traction sucks in my opinioin took it on the canyons and it broke loose on some occations. my old P7000 were better in grip. well have fun selecting a tire it is always tough to buy tires especially when you are stuck with them for 2-3 years, Juan M. Both stink on snow. mczar 06-07-2001, 06:40 AM Mark P 06-18-2001, 10:25 AM what state are you in? I'm considering SAVANT for a personalized license plate, and was kinda wondering if you minded. Of course I'll have an "S" Avant, so it would be more fitting for me also :o) I'm still contemplating plates, but this one is high up on my list. Check my website for my ideas: http://ctny.audiworld.com/mark/s4 -> Personalized Plate SAvant 06-18-2001, 11:45 AM SAvant 06-18-2001, 11:51 AM Mark P 06-18-2001, 02:08 PM is SAVANT your plate? I just figured it was only your screen name. SAvant 06-18-2001, 02:35 PM more appropriate. At the time that I chose the name we didn't have the S4 Avant yet. I thought that it was not "frontin'" since I wanted to go S3 all the time. It's OK, you can admit it. You just want to be like me!! >;-> mark Mark P 06-19-2001, 06:22 PM SAvant 06-20-2001, 10:00 AM Mark P 06-20-2001, 02:34 PM SAvant 06-21-2001, 07:19 AM Mark P 06-21-2001, 11:34 AM So, if I get the plate also (and you get Stage3).... you'll be: SAVANT = "S"tage3 "AVANT" = S3 AVANT I'll be: SAVANT = "S"4 "AVANT" = S4 AVANT and if there were actually an Audi S3 here, I guess it could be called an Avant, and get the same plate. And if APR comes out with their Stage4 kit for the A4, that person could have Stage4 (S4) Avant too. ok, done with that babbling, back to work... SAvant 06-21-2001, 12:07 PM |
