I am interested in purchasing a set of these coil overs.
1.which stage has the adjustable dampening?
2.What is the street price
3.how does it ride?
4.how do you adjust dampening? Ride height?
all i know about these units is that they use Koni sturts.
here is a link for their german site
I installed the KW varaint 1's, which don't have the adjustable dampening. The variant 2's are the ones with adjustable dampening. Both are a threaded coilover making them ride height adjustable
I paid $1400 for the variant 1's. The variant 2's are more. How much? I don't know. I know a shop that will match the price of H&R's.
My personal opinion, they ride perfect. I have a 98.5 w/ sport suspension and they ride a touch firmer that stock. The real differnce is when you throw the car through a corner, it stays very flat. The suspension also soaks up bumps very well. I live in LA and you can catch air on the freeways if your suspension is to stiff.
I know it would be impossible to adjust the dampening from the top of the strut while the strut is still in the car. So I don't know how you do it. Adjusting ride height is similar to any coilover, you spin the shock perch either up or down on the shock body to your desired height. I don't know about other coilovers, but I know that the ride quality is almost the same whether your all the down or all the way up.
If you have any question e-mail me
andy

i am really upset with sites such as koni and eibach which give u only the barest of info: no spring rate info, adjustment range, damping factor, etc. Just "it drops the car 2IN COOL!" NOT.
This site looks as though it goes into detail on the assembly construction, etc.
My concern is the shipping cost from there to Canada, and how do u get service and satisfaction.
Any importers in USA/CANADA?
1996 a42.8 qm
I'd like to see that one. Besides, from my experiences in riding around in dumped hondas/acuras on the LA freeways, the main issue isn't about catching air - it's usually
1.)about avoiding bottoming out the suspension/chassis/body on the ground, or
2.)avoiding hitting your head on the ceiling when you hit the aforementioned bumps.
:)
Edmund Louie
98 A4Q 30V

It's all written in my head. . . i just need to find the right protocol to connect it with my fingers, so i can get it in the computer, and hence, out the printer, and on the paper. Sounds like a lotta bureaucracy going on huh?
THAT'S WHY IT'S BEEN TAKING SO LONG!!! =)
Edmund Louie
98 A4Q 30V - still posting!
