Never see BMW's in cop parking lots, been seeing lots of A4's lately. And there's a cop that drives a black A6Q in the LFPD. Black car, always clean. Makes you wonder the car wash time versus the law enforcement time that guy has.<p>Cameron

They've bumped up salaries based on the rate increases on speeding tickets? Or were these seized in a bust and bought cheap by the cops themselves?<br>I've heard they turn some seized cars into actual police cars....maybe they get to buy some of them for personal use too?<br>

The worst is a blue fully modified last-body-style Camaro used by the Arlington Heights PD... dreadfully fast, actually. A couple Vettes around. All these cars come from drug busts and are kept as "property forfeited during processing" or similar language is used to keep the cars they want and they use their drug enforcement bonus to convert the car to a police cruiser and make minor modifications at a local speed shop. The Lake Forest PD doesn't really have many drug busts, any cases involving fast cars as evidence, but they have plenty of tax dollars. After putting marble floors and that silly-looking fountain into Lake Forest High School, there was still some cash left... I think that budget surplus goes half to the parks program and half to the cops.<p>But these A4's look like they were well cared-for, not bought in cash by some drug dealer and abused. They aren't outfitted with gear as enforcement vehicles.<p>Cameron

I have seen many pictures of the public Russian police in A4 crusiers. These are probably stripped down versions, but still A4's......<p>Can anyone from Europe confirm this?

I tavel to Malaysia a lot and that's what they use, new MB 300D's as taxi's. Singapore is also full of them. I'm not kidding about the Russian police cars. I have seen many picures of A4 police cars.
