Seems like I hear a new rattle or vibration every month. The latest one is on the passenger side, either in the dash or passenger door (hard to reach over and try to isolate while I'm driving!). Happens around 3000RPM, especially when outside temp is cold. Goes away in warm weather and sometimes at random. This kind of stuff drives me nuts. Anyone else experience and/or solve this? I have a 98 1.8T stick.

Lately, I hear two noises that I think emanate from the left and center vent ducts, but it is tough to isolate. My door also needs realigning since that rattle was made worse by dealer.

Mine has exactly the same intermittent rattle that you describe. I mentioned this to the dealer when I took it in for service, and he said that this was a common complaint. His "solution" was to take off the passenger-side end of the dash and add some insulation. Unfortunately, the rattle has since returned. I've had a passenger lay his hands on every possible panel in that area, but we can't isolate the noise, either. Let us know if you have better luck.

Uncanny - mine started the same rattling/humming just about a month ago....Mine seems to come from soewhere behind the glovebox, or between the passenger side end of dash and the door. ( my car is UK spec, steering wheel on right)<p>Adrian
