can anyone recommend a brand an the optimal placement of the indicator and the pick up. also what is the deal with laser? is this a must. what should the radar costs with install

Valentine One is unquestionably the best overall,but it is larger than most and expensive,and gives some drivers more info than they need.Bel Electronics makes excellent units,& the best value is Uniden model LRD6599SWS(about $150-160 by mail order). Any good auto stereo or aftermarket shop can hard-wire up the A-pillar so you can visor mount.All above include laser.You can e-mail me if you wish,& I will also talk by phone if you like.

Addendum to my previous message: I realized you may be asking about built-in units. Check out K40 Electronics.This company even makes a laser diffuser.
