I took it to the dealer and they "reprogrammed it." Apparently there was no physical damage to it.

Hey,<br>Hust let it dry out inside. You may want to change batteries, or at least take the one out until it dries, so it wont corrode the inside of the remote. I am speaking from some measure of experience. I took the keys for my GMC Jimmy (since traded in for my A4) Scuba diving in my pocket. I felt so stupid but when I got back I pooped the remote open and dried it out. It worked just fine after that. Believe it or not people actually clean Printed Circuit Boards by putting them inside a dishwasher, and it works fine.
