I took delivery this week (Wed, 12/9/98)... I (factory) ordered my '99 A4 2.8 QMS on 8/6/98... If you counting, that's 18 weeks! My POE was Wilmington--I live in Central NJ. One factor was there was a 2 week hold in port due to Audi mandating a change in the radiator hose clamp.<p>On a positive note... It was worth the wait... Having driven the car now 150 miles, which is different that taking a test drive at the dealer, this car is simply one of the best cars I have ever owned... I hope I have luck and am grateful for all the useful information I have gotten so far from this forum... I think I'm hooked on my A4 and look forward to additing my experiences here to stimulate dicusssion & share A4 owner information... Now I've got to go back to the (work) grindstone.

Well, congrats - you are ahead of me. I ordered July 25 - still do not have a car. Dealer/ Audi messed up my order and sent an avant (ordered a 1.8T sedan) - They have now found me another car to do a dealer swap, which has just arrived in POE of Houston. Maybe I will get it by Xmas.
