About six weeks ago my front left tire went flat (Bridgestone S02). The tire repair store found a big bolt in it and also excesive wear on the inside of the tire with a couple of punctures. They said it was my alignment. They also said I need two new tires because the fronts were too worn on the inside. So they got the tires, alligned it, and rotated the rims and tires so the new tires were in the back. About two weeks later, my front left tire began to go flat. I would fill it up to 40 psi and within a day it would be at least down to 25 psi. After a week it could even get down to 15 psi. I then went to a more reputable store and they said my allignment was way off but nothing is wrong with the tire. He said that it could be a result of air escaping because it is a three-piece wheel. The same problems still occur with my tire pressure. What is wrong and what should I do about it?

Get a tub of water and dunk the wheel in. If you're loosing as much as you say you are, you'll see bubbles from where the leak is. Make sure you check the whole wheel as you may have more leaks than one. If it's from the joints of the wheel, then you'll need to get it rebuilt. If it's the tire, then just get it patched up.

There are a few things that needto be checked- most likely the wheel is:
1) leaking at valve stem
2) bead not seated on wheel & escaping at bead area
3) since it is a 3-pc wheel, perhaps there is loss in the wheels construction.

A tire shop/installer should be able to dunk-test the wheel & tire & find out where the leak is at!

Hope this helps!
