Hi!
We are planning to get some collision damage on an A4 1.8T repaired.
The damage is mostly to the right rear passenger door area.
Insurance is going to pay for it and the two closest dealers are
Andersen-Behel in San Jose and Carlsen Audi in Palo Alto.
Feedback on experiences (positive and/or negative) with these
dealers will be appreciated very much.
thanks,
Shashi

I have a friend in Redwood City that you should at least talk to about repairing the damage. He has worked on my A4...twice now...for minor things. However, he has worked on my friends Boxster, BMW 635 and BMW 533i several times. He also does ground-up restorations on cars. Excellent work. He is also a car guy.
His shop is called:
Automotive Perfection
Jack Perkins
2860 Fair Oaks
650-365-9483
You will be very satisfied. If he asked...tell him I sent you.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

Agree withe Steve here....
If Redwood City is too far for your liking you might want to try M2 in Mountain View. They did a *really* nice job in fixing up the scrapes that I put in my Santorin Blue A4.
Got the recommendation from the mechanic who works on my non warranty vechicles ( and old 5000S and a Saab 9000).
-randy
I took my santorin blue to anderson-behel BODY shop (not supposed to be affiliated with the dealer, but refered by them). I had some roof damage. They did a nice job, but they goofed on the trim, and I had to wait a few more days to get the car while they got a replacement piece. They're pretty expensive though, but state farm paid for it.

If you're in the Bay Area I would suggest talking to Cavallino Collision Repair in Palo Alto. Right accross 101 from Carlsen. They've done collision as well as restoration work for me and I've never had any complaint. I suggest them to all my friends with nice cars and they've all been happy.

If the choices were...either of those two dealerships for body work...or Jack's Automotive Perfection...I suggest Jack's shop. Just for the record..I have no affiliation with Jack or his shop and get nothing in return for referring people to him. I just think he does excellent work for a fair price. I am sure their are fine body shops associated with some dealers.
You Ok with that one Jim? I am sorry for using a generalization...I chose the wrong words.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
