Good morning all!
How many SUV drivers does it take to ruin a commute?
Radio reports police nailed some smart guy doing 90 mph down I-25 this morning. Audi with snows did beautiful, as ever. Practiced a little Bridgestone Winter Driving School this morning in the subdivision. Stay safe everyone.
-Todd
I too was frustrated driving in this morning...people just wouldn't get outta my way! 8^) I had the good fortune to be first in line at a stoplight on Arapahoe Rd (by Centennial); I love when that happens. The light turned green and I was gone! Gotta love that quattro (even on that nice layer of ice under the snow)! I think I could hear the faint of jaws hitting steering wheels, as I pulled away. 8^)
CraigB

Coming from Santa Fe...down Arapahoe....thru some residential...do I have the same intersection? I hear you on the first a the light thing...but all we got here is wet roads...not snow laden.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

This is by Centennial Airport (@ Peoria); east of I-25. I have ALWAYS looked forward to snow, but with quattro I yearn for it! 8^)
CraigB

I love being the first at a light on a snow laden street in my Quattro. I seriously saw this guys jaw drop this morning when I dusted him at a light in Boulder. He was in a new Durango and thought he had the upper hand. The light turned green and I saw is back end swing sideways a bit as I left him far far behind. At the next light he looked over at me in amazement and was just nodding his head in approval.
Quattro with good snows is the only way to go. I try not to be too cocky in the quattro because that may be just plain stupid but in a straight line pull from a stop light there are no worries.

Hey all,
I hope you all enjoyed our little snow day yesterday.
So, how many of you went out last nigt and found a nice big parking lots to play in?

Come on, be honest? I sure did. I was doing loops and figure 8s for about 15 minutes in a church parking lot in Boulder. There was about 6 inches on the ground with a nice layer of ice underneith.....very fun. I must say that I was a little suprised at how easily the back end comes around, but as long as you stay on the gas and point the front wheels where you want to go...everything ends up just fine.
However, I did have one bad thing happen last night. After carefully planning my "exercises" in an empty parking lot, I clipped a curb on the way home. The parking lot is less then a 1/4 mile from my house, and I think that I just relaxed too much after playing. The first corner I came to I mis-judged where the curb was compared to what was plowed. The next thing I know the back end is halfway around and I have to catch it before I send the front of the car over the curb. Thanks to my "exercises" I caught the car with ease and drove home. I don't think the wheel ( the right rear ) is bent, cause I didn't notice any vibration at all on the way to work this morning, but I do have some nice scratches....D'OUGH!!!!!
Does anyone know how to remove the scrathes without taking it to a wheel specialist? I sure hope so, otherwise there will be a post up tomorrow looking for a spare 7-spoke sport wheel.
Rick
98.5 Avant QMS

Check the FAQ on repairing scratched wheels. I've used the instructions myself and I think they work well.
I had fun driving home from DIA home last night after returning from a business trip to Montana. Of course, my A4 is home in the garage right now, as the last thing I would ever do would be to risk it during a slippery commute. I took the bus to work today.
