I live in socal which means no snow here except I want to take my car up the mountain. I hear you're not suppose to chain the quattro. I have the stock 15inch tire, will they be fine driving in snow up the mountain. I would hate to have to spend money for snow tires. please advise.

If they don't work for you, you can always buy snows later on. Obviously snows are even better than all-seasons, but we haven't bought snow tires for any vehicle in the last 20 years and haven't needed them.
