My cousin's '00 1.8T (sport/Tiptronic) arrives in about 2 weeks. He doesn't care for the new 10-spoke sport wheels and he is pretty much set on getting a set of 16"x7" replicas of the beloved Audi 5-spoke wheels. He also wants to go with a slightly more aggressive look by switching to 225/50R16 tires. It is my undersatnding that the ATP or MAS replica wheels from Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct both come with ET35 offset instead of the OEM ET45.

Will this proposed set-up look nice and aggressive without the wheels/tires bulging out from the fenders and making the car look like a South Central Sentra? He definitely wants to avoid that look. If that's the case, would staying with the OEM 205/55R16 tires be a better choice?

Thanks for your advice. Any pictures will be appreciated.

...the difference in offset is only 1 cm on each side. I'm not sure how I feel about the look of the 225/50/16 tire on the 7 inch rim though - undecided there. The handling generally gets good reviews though.

I like them a lot better than the MIM ones from Discount but that appears to be the only choice in 16s.
