DonP has tested his installation on the road using G-Tech. Interesting results so far.
I'm using a NS K04 chip along with my K04 turbo. The only difference is that I bought my K04 from someone else. The NS K04 chip runs smoother and gets better mpg than their standard 12psi chip.
Ali
98.5 1.8T

kind of suprised neuspeed would sell you their chip for 169 without your buying the turbo from them.(what did you pay for the turbo and where did you purchase?) i have wett 1.0 and i wonder if they would exchange the chip for a nominal fee without me giving them $2000 for the turbo and a filter?

He has been going thru some rough times for the past two months, trying to get his Wetterauer K04 upgrade to work (from his posts it seems like he is having chip problems). Wanted to mention this, since this upgrade (DonP's) is not the Neuspeed K04 upgrade also, I hope Don is able to get his issues resolved soon. Don's K04 installation write-up on his home page has been very helpful to those who are installing K04's.
There were two posts of those with the Neuspeed upgrade in the last archive period, however this archive period is not available. As I recall from reading these posts about the Neuspeed upgrade, there were no reported problems. There are probably close to 30-40 Neuspeed K04 kits that have been sold within the last few weeks. I have this kit and would expect that we will begin to hear more from this installed base soon. I'll probably set aside some time to do the install this weekend and will give you my impressions.

The turbo now goes for about $1,300 list. I paid much less than that, but I had ordered it back in June. The cost to upgrade from the NS 12psi chip to the K04 version was $75.
Ali
98.5 1.8T
