Hi All,
I am debating whether or not to rotate the tires myself since the dealer will charge to do so on the next visit. I don't have any tools for the job and I need help deciding what I need.
1) Torque wrench - I saw a torque wrench for $20 at an AutoZone. I've seen a similiar one at Pep Boys for $30. I also say a "thicker" one for over $50. Does it matter for just changing tires? I'm looking at the rotating ones.
2) Jacks - Can I just jack up one side of the car? Put a jack on both the front and back jack points on one side of the car. I don't want to put a spare on to rotate tires if I can avoid it.
Thanks,
Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS)

I believe there are two types of torque wrenches. The type with a needle which "bend" when torque is applied, causing the needle to point at the gauge at the bottom of the wrench. The second type is more expensive and is adjustible before you apply torque. You basically dial the required torque in and tighten until it "clicks" This type is more expensive. Either will do, as long as it goes up to the torque you require... probably 80-90 pounds??
