I've got 17x8 SSR Integral wheels with Pirelli P7000 Supersport 225/45/R17 tires. What pressure
are people using in similar situations for plain
old normal driving? I'm not doing any racing.
Tirerack says use the Audi owner's manual recommendation and then bump it up 2-4 psi, then use judgment if it's too squishy or hard. My tires came from Reno NV, and are currently on the car and at 37 psi (the way they arrived). Is this too high, it seems to me like it is.
Thanks!
Big D

I just took off Pirelli P7000SS 25/45/17 tires off my car...I now have Dunlop SP9000 225/45/17 and run them at 36 psi. I usually ride in the car alone...or with the kids in the back.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

You are fine up to the maximum cold pressure listed on the sidewall (dependant on the amount of air in the tire and loading in the car).
Audi recommends a low pressure to provide a better ride (thus making the car feel better). Increasing the pressure will give you better fuel economy and handling at the expense of ride. If you run too high you'll "round the tires" and run only of the center of the tread.
37 psi should be near perfect. I run 38 on the street and 42 on the track.
Dwayne
94 S4
