I know it sounds silly with having Quattro and all, but I'm in Vermont skiing three days a week, and there have been three ice storms in the last three weeks. No 4-wheel system performs well on solid ice. I was wondering if the studs would have any ill-effect on the quattro.

Lots of people, myself included, have been using studded tires this winter. I am using Michelin XMS 250's 195/65/15 on Audi baskets (BBS). They work mighty fine on snow and passably well on ice. The thing to remember is that the studs don't offer that much of an advantage on the ice and to take it easy. I have had no problem with the quattro system.
