Summit racing has 5/4.5 15*8 Nascar rims with 2" backspacing for $40 each (19lbs). Is there any hope that they would fit on a Quattro? 112mm bolt circle translates to 4.41". I know that at least a 1" spacer would be needed to drop the offset from ET50 to ET25. How much do spacers or adapter plates normally run? My other option is $650 for a set of 4 used alloy rims so you can see my motivation.
I want to run 215-50-15 track tires on them. Any thoughts? TIA
Todd W

Steel are fine and strong. I have used Diamond Racing Wheels for years - (ask for Bill) - 800-937-4407 - custom made spun steel, hub-centric if
you want it, 11-8 pounds, $57 each.
And, if you really want light, try Taylor Corporation - 515-276-0992 -, 7 pounds, $172 each
Keiser Aluminum Wheels - 602-893-3557, 7-3/4 pounds, $155 each
Ron at R & S Racing, Inc.(http://www.rsracing.com/index.html) or call them (ph# 888-261-1243). Has some trick rims and GREAT tire deals.
I think you might want to try a 225/50/16 tire, they are cheap and a good compromise. Ron and those guys at Tennessee tire always have some good used or old stock to play on. Long live the Re71 raz!!!
I bought race tire from them several years ago- do they still have RE71 Rs in stock?
If so- I'll pick up a set when I'm home for Christmas (and save on shipping!)

Diamond does not have any wheels that fit a 5 lug Audi.
R&S Racing was very helpful, but could not find anything in their catalogs. He is checking with his suppliers.
The issue is the bolt circle, 112 is halfway between 4 1/4 an 4 1/2 inches (common American). I was wrong about the backspacing, it is 5" instead of 1" for 15*8 ET24.
Anyone else have any ideas? Prices are climbing towards $100/rim, which is not that far below alloys.
Todd W
