checked them out at Tireworks in Mississauga. They had the R-28s in this new scheme. It kinda looks like chrome, but with a clear coat, and dusky color. Varies depending on how u look at it, so pictures don't do it justice.<p>Guys say it is not chrome, but applied paint.<p>too bad i already got the silver R28s.<p>1996 A4 2.8 QM<p>PS anyone else buy from them??

What you saw, was an earlier version of the Millennium finish. This is a powder coat, clear coat PAINT, applied in a vacuum chamber that has the appearance of chrome--but with the durability of clear coat paint. The earlier finish had a darker, "black pearl" appearance to it---whereas the newer finish has a luster and appearance virtually identical to chrome.
