Are spacers necessary if using 17" A8 rims on an A4q? I remember reading a post that the offset was the same as the stock 16x7 sport rim, i.e. 45mm. If this is the case, wouldn't the A8 rim, which is 1" wider at 17x8, be 1/2 inch closer to the center of the car, as well as pushed out an extra 1/2"? Is there any problem running this setup? If spacers are necessary to clear suspension components, who is a reputable/inexepensive source for such a piece? Thanks.

MR--<p>I've heard that you do need spacers, and these can rather significantly elevate the cost of the wheels ($2-300, maybe??). I'm obviously not an authority on this though, so you may want to call a dealer or wheel distributor. Let us know. Thanks.<p>Rich<br>'98 2.8Q-sport, looking for new wheels for the spring..

Yes you can run the stock OEM wheels from the A-8 on the A-4. No problems w. suspension components. <br>However, for maximum looks and handling, I'd recomment app. a 7-8mm. spacer to bring the wheel out a little. Make sure they are hubcentric for both centerbores. BP is 5x112mm. We can have them made for you. Gary.

Gary-<br>How much would it cost to have a set of spacers made? Thanks for your reply.
