Does anyone know if the center caps from the OEM 5-spokes fit the R-28s? If they don't, are there any 4-ring center caps that do?
Thanks,
---John Pal...
'97 1.8TQAS w/lovley, new R-28s

Check out the link below for pictures. These are the center caps from the 7-spoke wheels and IMHO they look great. I have the R-28's and have ordered the center caps from Clair. I will put them on when I take those wheels off for the winter. You have to take the wheels off in order to swap...

R-28's with Audi center caps

You've already taken the Ronal ones off before getting your wheels put on the car! Have been driving around without center caps for about 5 days now. Should get them tomorrow, then I can just pop them right on! so far, been driving around feeling I'm on stolen rims or something. patience.... :)

In photographs the R 28 wheel appears similar to the OEM 7 spoke wheel, what are the differences aside from size ie 17" vs. 16"?
Jan

Width is 8.5" and offset is 34, I believe (Steve S. or Jason Teller can confirm).
CraigB

Looks-wise, the Ronals are also noticeably different in direct A-B comparisons. The stock 7 spokers are flat-faced, the R-28's are dished very effectively so that each spoke has a noticeable convex bow to it. The rim itself is also smoother and much more rounded. They are much easier to clean than the stock 7 spokers.
The stock wheels are very good looking, and this opinion is from one of the minority who prefer the 7 spoke wheels to the 5 spokes. But the R-28's are absolutely stunning. Pictures do not do them justice.
Andy

...and I only have the 16". I may relegate my Borbet Type Cs to winter duty and keep the R-28s on next summer. 8^)
CraigB

The R-28 is a striking, bold, masculine wheel.
Major difference between Ronal wheels vs. most OEM and aftermarket wheels is the Paint. Ronal incorporates the latest quality in their paints, in fact the "Sparkle Silver Clearcoat Paint' actually has tiny slivers of bright silver that really catch the eye in sunlight and the paint w. its powder coat clearcoat has a very bright and light sheen to it. Needless to say, it has the highest durability of any wheel.
The 17" is definitely more striking in that the spokes extend almost to the lip and are an inch longer--size does matter!!
Also, the 16" is a 7.5" vs. the 17" in an 8.5" width.
Both look exceptional on a variety of cars. Please refer to the new updated website, www.ronalusa.com and see it pictured plus on a host of cars, inc. Audi's. Gary.

The 5-Spoke wheels look pretty clunky to me.
Of course, the R-28's are even better than the stock.
