I need to relace my stock 195/65/15 tires soon. looking to keep stock rims. how wide can/should I go. any suggestions?

You should be able to go 225/55/15 without any problem, but the tire would bulge quite a bit on the stock 15x7" rim.<p>CraigB

Just put 215/60VR15 Michelin Pilot XGTV4s on my 99 GLS with VW Adelaide <br>alloys. Major improvement over the stock Contis. Neil W. recommended this size with 15" wheels, on his "Tire Machine" page...

I would think 215/60R15 is about the best you can do, or 205/60R15 if you want <br>the widest selection (as opposed to the widest tire. :-)<p>225/55R15 is also a workable size, but there very many (!) tires made in that size,<br>and actually I'm not sure if that would be too wide for those rims, or if it would rub.<br>Hard to find info for that size, since it's so rare....
