Well Since I pick up my 99 A41.8Q on weds I began looking for exhaust.. Well some info from the dude at Greed speed.<p>HKS Exhaust is beging redesigned to include a flex pipe. Will be available in Dec/Jan time frame. I've always had good luck with HKS and Trust parts.. Soo.. This is going to be a cool exhaust system .. not loud and will fit like factory.. Ok.. Spoke to him about a 12 sec A4 possibility.. he says maybe.. From what I am seeing a mild turbo upgrade/chip/exhaust/air filter will get your 14.5 - 15.0 depending on temps.. Hmmm not bad but not an M3 killer.. hehehe<br>SOO! lets see and learn from the Mitsubishi people.... Hmm.. something interesting.. well I think I am going to keep the stock turbo and get something big.. if I run into problems then I can swap out turbos pretty easy on the A4.. (easier than my Twin Turbo Z!!) ok.. hmm chip I wish I could retain a stock chip to make sure I can be *factory* if I run into problems....hmmm.. SO! <p>A T04E/T3 (similar to the ones the 12sec honda's run)... (external wastegate) no cats downpipe Thus you will keep in your garage..<p>One factory turbo<br>One factory exhaust manifold<br>One factory ECU<br>Two factory cats<p>T04E/T3 + Injector Upgrade + Chip (for the injectors) + Hks Exhaust + No CAT downpipe + around 15-17 psi boost... BINGO!! low 13 high 12 car? ahahahahha hmmm lets add cost now...<p>T04E = $750.00 New. (american turbos are cheap)<p>Injector Upgrade = $100x4 = $400.00<p>Chip = $500 (guessing for custom rom)<br>HKS Exhaust = $500.00 (damn pricey jap tuners!)<br>External wastegate = $150.00<br>custom no cat down pipe = $300.00<p>So we are talking around $2600.00 (for A seriously fast road car.. perhaps a vette killer as well!!!) I LOVE turbo cars...Hmmm one thing at a time.. I'll post a web site soon with my progress.. (guess I need to get a G-Tech as well ehehhehe) Thanks.. needed to vent.. <p>86 CryslerLaser Turbo->84 300ZX turbo->eclipse turob->(bought another)84 300ZX turbo->91 300ZX turbo-> and NOW and A4 turbo (hopefully the last in a while!!) all previous were self tuned and ran 12's-13's after tweaking ehhehehhehe.. (sad to see the TwinTurbo go though.. $1200.00 = 12.7's at 110mph at 100K miles on cheater slicks..) At least with the A4 traction will be the last problem instead of the 1st!! ahha <p>
