my battery died recently. itried starting my car after replacing it, it idled extremely low and would stall out when i tried driving. i tried turning it on for two minutes then starting and it still does not idle correctly and when i give it gas it dips and almost dies every few seconds making it undrivable....so im assuming my only options are to tow to a shop or find someone with a vag??? any helps appreciated. also its a 99 a4 turbo quattro. thanks

is the problem. But yes, see if you can find someone in your area to vag it for you.

NDBW throttle bodies need adaption just like the DBW. That is the first thing that I check when the car is running rough and has not thrown a code.

i cleaned the throttle body and tried everything over again. it idles normal now but the rpms still drop unexpectedly when i accelerate, so low sometimes that it stalls. so i obviously cant drive it still

If I had to guess, I'd say it was the MAF.
